Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Croydon to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on automated warehousing systems. The role involves electrical and mechanical tasks across AS/RS, conveyors and sortation equipment, with duties including fault finding up to 480V and CMMS reporting.

The position requires an Electro-Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3) and experience in high-volume facilities, ideally with PLC knowledge and pneumatics/hydraulics.

Qualifications

• NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in fast-paced automated warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG or packaging facilities.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the site and supporting continuous improvement.
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance on Automated Storage Retrieval Systems and conveyance/sortation equipment.
• Mechanical tasks: strip-down/re-assembly, component replacement, belt re-lacing.
• Electrical testing using a multi-meter and interpreting diagrams up to 480V.
• Reporting job details and breakdown information in CMMS; follow-up tasks.
• Provide exceptional maintenance support to on-site customer systems.
• General care and housekeeping of machinery and work areas.

Maintenance Engineer

Shift Pattern:

• Monday – Friday
• Double days
• 6am – 2pm & 2pm to 10pm (weekly rotation)

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out preventative and reactive Maintenance tasks across the site, as well as contributing to continuous improvement tasks.
• Performing Electrical and Mechanical maintenance on Automated Storage Retrieval Systems, conveyance systems and sortation equipment.
• Mechanical maintenance tasks such as the strip-down and re-assembly of equipment, replacement of components and re-lacing of belts for example.
• Electrically, you will be responsible for electrical testing using a multi-meter, interpreting electrical diagrams & symbols to support identification of faults and work up to 480v.
• Reporting Job details, breakdown information and follow up tasks in a CMMS system.
• Providing exceptional maintenance support to the on-site customer’s installed systems.
• General care and housekeeping of machinery and work areas.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Qualification at NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a fast paced, high volume facility – automated warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG and packaging facilities would prove a good transfer. Alongside Military personnel.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is an advantage.
• Experience using CMMS systems and managing engineering inventory.
