Job summary

TXM Recruit is partnering with a global intralogistics business to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for its Croydon site. You will maintain automated systems, including AS/RS, conveyors and sortation equipment, with a focus on preventative and reactive tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a Monday–Friday shift with 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotations, a salary of £51,045, and benefits including pension and private healthcare. Experience with CMMS and PLCs is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in automated, high‑volume environments.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality; pneumatics and hydraulics are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on Automated Storage Retrieval Systems, conveyors and sortation equipment.
• Strip‑down and re‑assembly of equipment; replace components and belts as needed.
• Use a CMMS to report job details, breakdowns and follow‑ups; provide on‑site maintenance support.

Maintenance Engineer

TXM Recruit are partnering with a leading, Global Intralogistics business that specialises in the design, development and maintenance of highly automated systems. We are searching for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to work on equipment such as shuttles, conveyor systems and sortation equipment in a fast‑paced environment. The company has a strong reputation for training & development of staff and operates within strong and growing markets.

Shift Pattern

Monday – Friday, double days: 6am – 2pm & 2pm – 10pm (weekly rotation)

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the site, and contributing to continuous improvement tasks.
• Performing electrical and mechanical maintenance on Automated Storage Retrieval Systems, conveyance systems and sortation equipment.
• Mechanical maintenance tasks such as strip‑down and re‑assembly of equipment, replacement of components and re‑lacing of belts.
• Conducting electrical testing using a multimeter, interpreting electrical diagrams & symbols to identify faults and work up to 480V.
• Reporting job details, breakdown information and follow‑up tasks in a CMMS system.
• Providing exceptional maintenance support to on‑site customers’ installed systems.
• Performing general care and housekeeping of machinery and work areas.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• Qualification at NVQ/BTEC/C&G Level 3 in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a fast‑paced, high‑volume facility – automated warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG and packaging facilities. Experience with military personnel is an advantage.
• Knowledge of PLC systems and their functionality.
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics is an advantage.
• Experience using CMMS systems and managing engineering inventory.
