Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for our Thetford site, operating on day shifts (Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm). The role focuses on carrying out daily mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment to support a high-quality, low-energy manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ Level 3 and experience in multi-skilled maintenance, with strong health & safety discipline and collaboration across teams to ensure robust maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualified and experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a multi-skilled environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering techniques and some electrical expertise.
• Experience in planned maintenance roles and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment.
• Work in line with Health & Safety regulations and Safe Systems of Work.
• Proactively identify improvements and prevent recurring issues.

Our Thetford operation is a breaded/coated product centre of excellence. As a value added, non-kill site we have no live animals or butchery onsite. It uses best in class equipment, which enables the site to deliver significant environmental benefits. The low-energy building is the flagship development within the 2 Sisters Food Group.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be working closely with the Engineering Team and carry out daily mechanical maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out in line with appropriate Health & Safety instructions and site policies.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be required to carry out daily mechanical and electrical maintenance on machinery and production equipment
• Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations using Safe Systems of Work
• Proactively looking for new, improved ways of working and proposing corrective actions to prevent recurring issues

About You

The ideal candidate will be NVQ level 3 qualified and have experience as a Mechanical Engineer from a multi-skilled environment.

Key Skills/Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and some electrical engineering techniques
• Improvising ability under breakdown conditions and product development situations and be aware of the relevant regulations
• NVQ Level 3 Qualified at a minimum
• Experience of working in planned maintenance roles
• Strong interpersonal skills: a team player who is prepared to support fellow engineers and can also develop good relationships with colleagues in departments across the business
