Job summary

InPost UK is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer for our Wednesbury distribution centre. You will maintain and support MHE and related systems to keep downtime low and ensure smooth parcel sortation and delivery operations.

You'll work on conveyors, perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and implement maintenance schedules while mentoring junior technicians and apprentices, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

At least a Level 3 qualification in engineering (HNC/City & Guilds or equivalent).
Proven experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
Knowledge of PLC control systems (Modicon/Siemens).
Familiarity with BS7671 (17th Edition) wiring regs and electrical installations.

Responsibilities

Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on conveyor belts and sortation systems.
Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out timely repairs.
Replace or repair faulty components, reset systems, and keep equipment running smoothly.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
Identify improvements to boost reliability and performance of equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Mentor junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
