Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in Coventry is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a modern, site-based manufacturing facility. You will work on advanced automated production equipment and provide proactive and reactive maintenance on a Monday–Friday day-shift oriented role, with rotating shifts.

The role focuses on maintaining Zünd or Kongsberg digital cutting tables, diagnosing faults, and working closely with production to maximise availability and minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience with Zünd or Kongsberg cutting tables.
• Experience in manufacturing or automated production environment.
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose faults efficiently and minimise downtime.
• Strong communication with production teams.
• Health and safety commitment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain and fault-find Zünd or Kongsberg cutting tables.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and control faults.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and implement permanent solutions.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and improvement of machinery.
• Work closely with production teams to resolve equipment problems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Complete all work safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and engineering best practice.
