1111 recruitment Ltd in Wrexham is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the on-site team. You will perform shift-based multi-skilled maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, diagnose faults, and work from drawings and PLC I/O schemes.

The role operates on a 4 on 4 off pattern (days 7am-7pm, nights 7pm-7am). Salary £47,255 p/a. You will contribute to continuous improvement, safety, and asset care, collaborating with contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • UK recognised electrical or mechanical qualification – NVQ level 3/equivalent or Above.
  • Fault find in electrical and mechanical machines/systems.
  • Ability to understand Electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver multi-skilled engineering support on shift with effective use of skills, resources, and procedures to maintain assets.
  • Care for assets through CMMS, stores and admin functions to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Support improvement projects aligned to long-term strategy and drive safe working practices.
  • Actively participate in department meetings to monitor and improve KPI performance and root-cause analysis.

Maintenance Engineer role Wrexham
  • Shift Maintenance Engineer (x2)
  • 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights). Days hours are 7am – 7pm, nights hours are 7pm – 7am
  • £47,255 p/a
  • UK recognised electrical or mechanical qualification – NVQ level 3/equivalent or Above
  • Be able to fault find in both electrical and mechanical machines/systems.
  • Ability to understand Electrical and mechanical Engineering Drawings.
  • Basic PLC I/O understanding.
  • Conversion qualifications (to Elec/Mech)
  • Good understanding of drives, motors, brakes, transmissions, closed loop feedback, transducers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, hard-working and organised
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines eg production start up.

To safely deliver multi-skilled Engineering support to site whilst on shift with effective use of skills, resources, contractors, communication, information, policies and procedures to maintain and continuously improve productive assets, departmental controls and site performance. They will work on improvement projects aligned to the long‑term strategy of the company and will be instrumental in creating a sustainable work environment for the team.

  • Clearly understand internal and external customer requirements to facilitate effective deployment of resources to meet these needs within the agreed timescales.
  • Care for assets through the effective use and interaction with the site computerised maintenance management system, stores and administration functions to deliver planned and unplanned maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Take a shift team role or play an active part as required to manage any situation where animal welfare, people safety, environmental impact, plant/assets, or business integrity may suffer detriment or be adversely affected.
  • Actively participate in department and cross functional operational meetings to monitor, improve and report performance against set KPI targets to ensure all aspects of engineering are effective with clear actions and focussed ownership to control and correct to root cause in a timely manner.
  • To support a high performing team though effective coaching, mentoring, and working with team members whilst on shift.
  • Monitor and maintain all customer service levels, both internal and external.
  • To ensure the required standard of animal welfare, food safety, food hygiene, environmental controls/permits, GMP, and safe working practices are met by the self, team members, and contractors.
  • Provide support and guidance on projects and improvements within the factory
  • To use problem solving techniques to prevent, detect and eliminate faults, abnormalities and inefficiencies
