Job summary

MTrec Technical are recruiting a permanent Maintenance Engineer for a fast-paced manufacturing client in Tyne and Wear. You will perform planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and diagnose breakdowns to maximise equipment availability.

You will work with Production and Quality to ensure build quality, document issues and develop countermeasures. Siemens PLC knowledge and electro-mechanical expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Maintenance engineer with apprenticeship completed.
• Logical problem solver with fault-finding abilities.
• Experience with PLC systems, Siemens preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose breakdowns and repair equipment to maximise availability.
• Document breakdowns to identify recurring issues.
• Develop countermeasures and improvement actions.
• Create maintenance strategies and procedures with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality to ensure build quality.
• Provide effective reports to team members.
• Support facilities management of industrial service equipment.

The Job You’ll Do;

• Performing scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime and quality concerns.
• Performing effective diagnosis of breakdowns and timely repair of equipment to maximise availability
• Documenting breakdowns to help identify and resolve reoccurring issues.
• Analysis of issues to root cause and development of countermeasures, improvement actions and/or suggestions to improve.
• Working cross functionally to produce effective maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
• Working collaboratively with Production and Quality departments to ensure the highest level of build quality is achieved after any intervention and throughout the working life of equipment
• Provide effective reports to Team Members
• Supporting the facilities management of industrial service equipment

About You;

• Have completed a Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship
• A logical problem solver with excellent fault-finding abilities.
• An effective communicator at all levels.
• Electro-mechanical knowledge of process and equipment maintenance
• Experience of PLC systems including Siemens
• Experience of manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting issues
• Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
