Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Ilkeston to join a busy manufacturing site. You will be responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support PM and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role offers a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and a salary of around £52,000, with opportunities to develop both electrical and mechanical skills within a stable, growing business.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
• Experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Job Role of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

You will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across site machinery. You will work closely with the wider engineering and production teams to minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability and ensure the site continues to operate safely and efficiently.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced industrial factory.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Experience working on automated production machinery and industrial equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime.

Requirements for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
• Level 3 Electrical qualification.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.

• Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

Desirable Requirements for the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Experience working with PLCs, ideally being able to fault-find using inputs and outputs.
• Experience working with automated production machinery.
• Experience with sensors, motors, drives, conveyors and control systems.
• Experience with continuous improvement and reducing machinery downtime.
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
