Job summary

TechNichols Resourcing Ltd is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer for a Birmingham site. You will join an experienced team, carrying out reactive maintenance, fault finding and planned preventive maintenance across production machinery and site equipment.

The role operates on a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights, with training and progression opportunities within a large manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery, PLCs, drives, sensors, or similar.
• Mechanical or electrical maintenance background; multi-skilled preferred.
• Team player with proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Support production machinery and site equipment through reactive maintenance and maintenance tasks.
• Perform fault finding, breakdown repairs, and planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
• Implement machinery improvements, installations, and project work.
• Work across a range of automated equipment and develop technical skills.

Overview

Role: Maintenance Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer

Salary: £43,000 to £45,000 per annum, plus benefits and progression opportunities

Hours: 4 on 4 off, rotating days & nights

Location: Commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas

Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting production machinery and site equipment through a combination of reactive maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), machinery improvements, installations, and project work.

This role would suit engineers who enjoy variety in their day-to-day work, working across a range of manufacturing and automated equipment, whilst continuously developing their technical skills.

Requirements

• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship, hold relevant engineering qualifications, or have significant maintenance engineering experience gained within industry.
• Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing, production, FMCG, distribution, logistics, or industrial environment.
• Experience with any of the following will be considered: conveyors, packaging machinery, bearings, belts, motors, sensors, drives, inverters, relays, contactors, three-phase systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, automated equipment, robotics, or material handling systems.
• Mechanical or electrical maintenance background - multi-skilled engineers are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Friendly and adaptable approach to work with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude with a hands-on approach to fault finding and problem solving.
