Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Tamworth is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their manufacturing team. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance on a range of production equipment, with a 34-hour week and a double days shift pattern (6am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-9pm).

You will fault-find electrical and mechanical issues, read drawings, and use a CMMS to record maintenance activities while supporting continuous improvement and reducing downtime.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification, electrical preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working in manufacturing/production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
  • Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team.

The Role – Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repair, fault finding and continuous improvement activities across a wide range of production equipment.

Working closely with production teams, you will ensure equipment remains safe, compliant and operating at optimum performance levels.

Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer

Carry out planned and preventative maintenance activities.

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.

Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.

Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and root cause analysis.

Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system.

Requirements – Maintenance Engineer

Qualification in Engineering – ideally electrical

Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
