Hunter Selection Ltd. in Swindon is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a global manufacturing business operating in a highly regulated environment.

The role offers Monday–Friday days, with a salary of £48,000–£50,000 per annum and clear progression opportunities. You will provide technical engineering support, lead fault finding, drive reliability, mentor maintenance teams, and manage upgrades while ensuring GMP, safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification required (HNC Level 3/NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of GMP, Health & Safety and maintenance best practices.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning systems; knowledge of production equipment, HVAC and water treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support across a designated production area.
• Lead fault finding activities and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Drive equipment reliability, availability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support maintenance teams with second-line technical expertise and mentoring.
• Manage equipment upgrades, installations and commissioning activities.
• Work with Production, Quality, Validation and Engineering teams to minimise downtime.
• Review and improve preventative maintenance strategies through CMMS systems.
• Manage external contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance standards are met.
• Ensure activities align with GMP, safety and quality requirements.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide technical engineering support across a designated production area
• Lead fault finding activities and implement permanent corrective actions
• Drive equipment reliability, availability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support maintenance teams with second-line technical expertise and mentoring

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Validation and Engineering teams to minimise downtime
• Review and improve preventative maintenance strategies through CMMS systems

• Ensure all activities are carried out in line with GMP, safety and quality requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Engineering qualification (HNC Level 3/NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of GMP, Health & Safety and maintenance best practices
• Experience using CMMS and maintenance planning systems Knowledge of production equipment, HVAC and water treatment systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings
• Strong fault-finding, root cause analysis and continuous improvement experience
• Exposure to cleanroom environments would be advantageous
