Job summary

Stirling Warrington Limited in Swadlincote is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical focus to join an established manufacturing business with a strong heritage and commitment to sustainability.

You’ll play a key role in keeping plant, machinery and site equipment safe, reliable and running efficiently. Working closely with production and engineering colleagues, you’ll help minimise downtime, resolve faults and improve maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with mechanical fitting, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Willingness to perform basic electrical work.
• Safety-conscious with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across plant and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Work with gears, motors, bearings, chains, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Investigate recurring breakdowns and identify root causes.
• Support equipment upgrades, site improvements and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams to prioritise repairs and reduce downtime.
• Maintain safe working practices and support site security and shutdowns when required.

• Willingness to support basic electrical work within a multi-skilled team.
• A proactive, safety-conscious approach with good communication and problem-solving skills.
