Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a busy, fully automated manufacturing site in Swadlincote, UK. You will carry out mechanical fault-finding, breakdown response and planned maintenance to ensure high machine availability.

The role requires apprentice training or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, with experience handling automated equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced factory.

Qualifications

• Apprentice Trained / NVQ Level 3 in Engineering.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced industrial factory.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical fault-finding and breakdown response on production machinery.
• Execute planned maintenance to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within a fully automated manufacturing facility.

Salary: £58,000

Shift: 4 on 4 off (days and nights)

Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

You will be responsible for mechanical fault-finding, breakdown response, and planned maintenance activities on production machinery, supporting continuous improvement and minimising downtime.

• Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in fast paced industrial factory.
• Apprentice Trained / NVQ Level 3 qualification within Engineering

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Good working knowledge of automated equipment and be a competent in fault diagnosis on general mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
