Job summary

Lithe Consulting Ltd is assisting a UK manufacturer with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer. You will work in our factory, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, with exposure to rotating machinery and gas systems.

Training will be provided and there is scope for overtime. We require an apprentice-trained engineer with Level 3/4 NVQ in Engineering, 17th/18th Edition, and a COCN1 certificate.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained and experienced Maintenance Engineer with mechanical experience, ideally rotating machinery
• Willing to work beyond standard hours for critical breakdowns
• Experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a production environment

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with machinery
• Carry out repairs and fabrication work
• Coordinate with outside contractors for quotes and scheduling routine PPMs
• Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely and produce risk assessments
• Maintain spare parts stock and calibration records
• Keep clear records of work using computer systems

Job description

My client is an established UK manufacturer specialising in advanced polymer-based manufacturing processes, supplying a diverse customer base across sectors including automotive, healthcare and industrial equipment. They are looking for a skilled, apprenticed trained and experienced Maintenance Engineer with mechanical experience ideally with rotating machinery. Some electrical experience will also be required. Additional training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance you would be responsible for day-to-day maintenance in our factory.

Qualifications and skills

• Level 3/4 NVQ diploma or equivalent in Engineering
• 17 th 18 th Edition beneficial
• COCN1 Commercial Gas Safety Certificate
• Experience working in a multi skilled maintenance role in a production environment
• Welding, fabrication, turning and milling experience
• Adept at fault finding in mechanical, electrical, gas and plumbing systems
• Willing to work beyond standard hours for critical breakdowns
• Forklift driver or willing to learn

Duties and responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with our machinery
• Carry out repairs and fabrication work
• Work closely with outside contractors to coordinate repairs, garner quotes and schedule routine PPMs
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely as well as produce risk assessments
• Maintain and manage our stock of spare parts whilst minimizing cost
• Keep clear records of work utilising our computer systems
• Maintain the company’s calibration records

This is not an exhaustive list - you may be asked to carry out other duties on occasion should they be required for the smooth-running of the operation.
