Job summary

Arthur Rose Recruitment is assisting a UK manufacturing site in recruiting a Shift Engineer on a Panama shift pattern (2,2,3) with 12-hour days and nights. Salary ranges £46,000–£52,000 DOE and includes pension, overtime, and clear progression opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 Engineering (electrical) and mechanical experience, plus a manufacturing background. You will perform PPM and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and drive continuous improvement across shifts.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent in electrical.
• Mechanical experience and engineering background in manufacturing.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• PPM and reactive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Undertake machine start-up and support production and hygiene teams.
• Adjust machines to optimise performance.
• Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Communicate status and performance across shifts for smooth handovers.
• Explore CI methods to improve plant performance.

Are you a Shift Engineer looking for a new challenge in a recession proof industry for a company that has been established for over 100 years!

Working within a team you if you must have a strong engineering discipline and will need to be comfortable with both electrical and mechanical skills.

The plant is currently undergoing investment and expansion.

Role and Responsibilities of a Shift Engineer

• PPM & Reactive maintenance
• Undertake machine start-up, working closely with the production and hygiene team.
• Machine adjustments to optimise machine performance.
• To undertake fault diagnosis & implement corrective actions to minimise machine downtime.
• To communicate machine status & performance across shift teams to ensure effective handovers.
• Look at CI methods and ways to improve plant performance

Qualifications Required:

• Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent in electrical
• Mechanical Experience/qualifications
• Engineering/Technical background
• Manufacturing industry experience

This is working a Panama shift pattern (2,2,3) on a mix of 12 hour days and nights

Salary is up to £55,000, Pension, and excellent overtime and a clear progression inc MEWP, Confined space, FLT and further qualifications
