Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on on-site role in Grantham. You will be responsible for fault-finding, planned and reactive maintenance, and improving equipment reliability across conveyors, pumps and hydraulics.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 mechanical qualification and proven experience in fast-paced environments, with the ability to work the 4 on/4 off day shift.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on maintenance experience within a fast-paced production or processing environment.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and general plant machinery.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills; electrical fault-finding knowledge is advantageous.
• Proactive, flexible and team-focused; able to work a 4 on, 4 off day pattern.

Responsibilities

• Completing reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise equipment downtime.
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and routine asset care.
• Maintaining and repairing machinery including conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
• Overhauling and improving existing equipment, with some electrical fault-finding and control-system checks.
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities while completing all maintenance records and working safely in line with site procedures.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a hands‑on role where you can keep essential equipment running, solve technical problems and support continuous improvement across a busy operational site?

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Grantham

Salary: £42,000 PA

Shift: 4 on, 4 off day shifts

This Maintenance Engineer role would suit a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys fault‑finding, reactive maintenance and improving the reliability of machinery within a fast‑paced working environment.

You will work closely with the wider maintenance and operational teams, completing planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and effective. The position offers a varied workload across mechanical systems, with some electrical fault‑finding where required.

As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Completing reactive maintenance and fault‑finding to minimise equipment downtime

• Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills, with some electrical maintenance knowledge considered advantageous
• A proactive, flexible and team‑focused approach, with the ability to work a 4 on, 4 off day‑shift pattern
