Job summary

Frey Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on role at our Grantham site. The role covers reactive and preventive maintenance across conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics and pneumatics, with fault-finding and a focus on improving equipment reliability.

You will work Tue-Sat 18:00-03:00, coordinating with maintenance and operations teams, performing planned maintenance, keeping accurate maintenance records, and contributing to site safety and continuous

Qualifications

• A Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in fast-paced environments such as production or processing.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and general plant machinery.
• Strong fault-finding skills with some electrical knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Completing reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise equipment downtime
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and routine asset care
• Maintaining and repairing machinery including conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics and pneumatic systems
• Overhauling and improving existing equipment, with some electrical fault-finding and control-system checks where required
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities while completing all maintenance records and working safely in line with site procedures

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a hands-on role where you can keep essential equipment running, solve technical problems and support continuous improvement across a busy operational site?

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Grantham

Shift: Tues-Sat 6pm - 3am

This Maintenance Engineer role would suit a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys fault-finding, reactive maintenance and improving the reliability of machinery within a fast-paced working environment.

You will work closely with the wider maintenance and operational teams, completing planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and effective. The position offers a varied workload across mechanical systems, with some electrical fault-finding where required.

As a Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Completing reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise equipment downtime
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and routine asset care
• Maintaining and repairing machinery including conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics and pneumatic systems
• Overhauling and improving existing equipment, with some electrical fault-finding and control-system checks where required
• Identifying continuous improvement opportunities while completing all maintenance records and working safely in line with site procedures

As a Maintenance Engineer you will need:

• A Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Previous hands-on maintenance experience within a production, processing, warehouse or similarly fast-paced environment
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and general plant machinery
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills, with some electrical maintenance knowledge considered advantageous
• A proactive, flexible and team-focused approach, with the ability to work a 4 on, 4 off day-shift pattern
• Varied planned and reactive maintenance responsibilities
