Job summary

KPA Recruitment Ltd in the Shrewsbury region is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer for a client in Halesfield. The successful candidate will ensure the safe operation of manufacturing equipment, perform reactive and planned maintenance, and oversee maintenance activities.

The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, the ability to fault find PLC software, and a willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off rotation. Temp to perm arrangement applies.

Qualifications

• Time served multi skilled maintenance engineer with mechanical/electrical knowledge.
• Apprenticeship qualification plus 17th/18th edition essential
• 2+ years' experience in an Industrial / Manufacturing maintenance role
• Ability to fault find and interpret PLC software from drawings
• Experience with conveyors and gearboxes; CNC/PLC/servo drives and inverters

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a client in Halesfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership qualities, and excellent problem-solving skills to maintain high standards of operational efficiency. The Maintenance Engineer will also oversee maintenance activities, supervise junior staff, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organisation.

12 hour days, 4 on / 4 off. Temp to perm.

Duties

• Carry out reactive and planned maintenance work to manufacturing equipment and buildings
• Carry out mechanical and electrical installation work on all factory equipment
• To suggest and implement improvements to plant and machinery to prevent waste and improve productivity and quality.

Requirements

• Time served Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer with mechanical/Electrical knowledge
• Recognised qualification obtained through an Apprenticeship, plus 17th/18th edition qualification essential
• 2+ years' experience in an Industrial / Manufacturing maintenance role
• To have an excellent understanding and possess skills to work independently on Electric, Mechanical and pneumatic systems from detailed drawings
• To fault find and interrogate PLC software
• Good mechanical skills (Conveyors, Gearboxes etc)
• Experience with CNC, PLC's, Servo Drives and inverters.
• Ability and confidence to work on their own (with a can-do attitude)
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good IT, verbal and communication skills
