Job summary

Todd Hayes is seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on role in Shipdham. The position involves a roughly 60/40 split between fabrication and mechanical maintenance to keep the animal feeds production plant running efficiently.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, replace bearings, and weld using Mig and stick processes. Experience in metal fabrication, scaffolding, boiler work and basic plumbing is valued. This is a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

• Experience in metal fabrication, including frame builds and sheet work.
• Welding experience with Mig and stick welding.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Scaffolding erection and ladder safety familiarity.
• Ability to work under breakdown pressure with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance to maximise plant uptime.

Maintenance Engineer

Our market leading client, based in Shipdham, is currently seeking a proactive Maintenance engineer.

• Do you have qualifications in Mechanical engineering and Welding?

• Are you an engineer with an enquiring mindset, can do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, who operates with a sense of urgency and purpose (particularly under breakdown pressure)?

If the answer is yes, you could be the right candidate for this role.This is a full time, permanent position, based in Shipdham. The role is a hands-on with an approximate 60 / 40 split of fabrication / mechanical engineering.

Primary accountabilities:

• To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of our animal feeds production plant.
• To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Feed Safety Standards. Whilst leading by example to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
• Able to replace bearings on machinery & plant.
• Observe and report all problem areas on all plant and service, whilst working as a team with all other departments within operations.
• Welding experience using Mig and stick welding.
• Can work using own initiative.

Other duties:

• Responsible for site activity and security during weekend working.
• Maintain a Maintenance Team call out rota and be available for planned Saturday maintenance.

Scope of the role:

To effectively supervise the day-to-day maintenance staff, activity and tasks ultimately providing continuous production of the mill. The Supervisor role includes working hands on as a fitter with planned time to complete supervisory duties.

Experience / Qualifications

• Experience in the fabrication of metal work. Nothing of complexity, mostly frame builds, sheet work i.e. folding etc.
• Can erect scaffolding, ladder safety check experience, steam work and boiler work (desirable).
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and repairs.

Remuneration commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
