Job summary

Nicholas Associates in Sheffield is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to look after production equipment, fault finding and drives, including overhead cranes, in a heavy engineering environment.

You will read electrical drawings, work with CMMS, and have an apprenticeship at Level 3+ with 18th edition preferred; ABB/Allen‑Bradley PLC knowledge beneficial.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained and qualified to Level 3 or higher.
• Education to HNC Level in Electrical Engineering beneficial.
• 18th edition preferred.
• Basic understanding of PC-based software (Excel etc.).
• Able to read electrical drawings.
• Familiar with CMMS.
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance of all production equipment.
• Fault finding and breakdown analysis.
• Maintenance of drives and control systems.
• Electrical maintenance of overhead cranes.
• Maintenance of PLC-based systems (ABB/Allen-Bradley).
• Ladder logic understanding is beneficial.

Position : Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location : Sheffield

Shift Pattern : 2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights, 4 off but NO WEEKENDS

Salary : £49,000

Environment : Heavy engineering

The Role

• Electrical maintenance of all production equipment
• Fault finding
• Maintenance drives.
• Electrical maintenance of overhead cranes.
• Maintenance of PLC based systems, specifically ABB and Allen Bradley.
• Ladder logic understanding beneficial
• Reacting to breakdown requirements and safely / quickly identifying faults to minimise the impact on production.

About You

• Apprentice trained and qualified to Level 3 or higher
• Education to H.N.C. Level in an Electrical Engineering discipline beneficial
• 18th edition preferred
• A basic understanding of P.C. based software, Excel etc.
• Able to read electrical drawings
• Familiar with CMMS
