Job summary

OBR GROUP LIMITED in South Yorkshire is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to keep production machinery operating safely, reliably and efficiently. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, diagnose faults and repair equipment to minimise downtime, with a focus on PLC-controlled automation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and diagnose faults.
• Fault find on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays, and electrical systems.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Support continuous improvement to improve reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure health and safety compliance.

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: South Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £53,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours - Rotating mornings, afternoons and nights

We are partnering with a well-established businesses in South Yorkshire who are looking to recruit experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping production machinery operating safely, reliably and efficiently. Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and electrical inspections across production equipment.
• Responding to electrical breakdowns, diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Fault finding on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays, contactors and electrical control systems.
• Working with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve machine reliability, efficiency and performance.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with mechanical engineers, production teams and management to keep the site running effectively.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• A recognised electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent electrical engineering qualification.
• Previous electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills on automated machinery and production equipment.
