Maintenance Engineer

Hours:
4 on 4 off – 12-hour shifts (rotating days and nights on an 8-week cycle)
Are you a skilled maintenance engineer looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where your expertise will make a difference? We’re recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a busy production site supplying high-quality baked goods across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
- Maintain and support equipment such as conveyors, sealers, mixers, and wrap machines.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
- Collaborate with production teams for smooth handovers and effective communication across shifts.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and documented per internal policies.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects, helping identify and implement operational enhancements.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
About You:
- Electrically biased with a minimum of 16th Edition Wiring Regulations (17th or 18th Edition advantageous).
- Basic understanding of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience maintaining conveyors, sealers, mixers, and wrap machines is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment; food production experience preferred but not essential.
- Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A team player with good communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Capable of planning and prioritising your workload and supporting colleagues when needed.
- High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
