Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain, repair and install specialist equipment at customer sites across London and surrounding areas. This permanent role offers a salary of £51,000, a company vehicle, technical training and clear career development opportunities.

You will carry out planned preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, respond to breakdowns and ensure work meets industry standards while delivering excellent customer service on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.

• Willingness to travel across London and surrounding areas.

Role Summary

We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering and technical services company operating across London. This permanent, full-time position offers a salary of £51,000, a company vehicle, technical training, and clear career development opportunities. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing specialist equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on specialist equipment.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical faults.


• Respond to breakdowns and service call-outs.


• Install, commission, and test new equipment.


• Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.


• Provide technical support and advice to customers.


• Ensure work is completed in line with company and industry standards.


• Maintain excellent customer service while working on-site.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar.


• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.


• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.


• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.


• Ability to manage a field-based workload effectively.


• Full UK driving licence.


• Willingness to travel throughout London and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with specialist equipment.


• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualifications.


• Installation and commissioning experience.


• Previous customer-facing engineering experience.


• Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and engineering best practices.
