Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting experienced Maintenance Engineers/Technicians for roles expanding in Exeter. You will perform daily maintenance and repairs on a wide range of production machinery, including electrical and mechanical systems, with opportunities for shift patterns and overtime.

The role requires a time-served apprenticeship and proven multiskilled capability in industrial electrical/ mechanical systems, with reading diagrams and fault-finding abilities.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with minimum Level 3 qualification (BTEC/City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Multiskilled in industrial electrical and/or mechanical systems, pneumatics/hydraulics, fabrication and welding.
• Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and troubleshoot control panels.

Responsibilities

• Minimise production downtime by troubleshooting breakdowns and preventing recurrences.
• Work with electrical and mechanical drawings to fault-find and modify plant and equipment.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance using a Maintenance Management System.

Job description

The Company: Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician with either Electrical or Mechanical or Multiskilled skill? You will be required to provide daily maintenance and repair (preventative and emergency) of a wide range of production and engineering machinery. We have multiple roles available due to an exciting company expansion in Exeter, and all shift patterns will be considered for experienced manufacturing Maintenance Engineers and Technicians.

Job Responsibilities

• Minimise production downtime by trouble shooting breakdowns and preventing reoccurrences.
• Work with electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation undertake fault finding and modification of plant and equipment.
• Use a Maintenance Management System carry out preventative/ planned maintenance work.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and reducing recurring issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to all EHS Company policies.
• Continuously enhance job knowledge through training and development opportunities.
• Perform electrical and mechanical work, including fabrication, welding and some minor electrical installation work as required.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent.
• Demonstrated multiskilled proficiency in industrial electrical AND/OR mechanical systems OR Multiskilled would be perfect, including pneumatic/hydraulic systems, fabrication, and welding.
• Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams as well as troubleshooting control panels.
• Ability to pass medical which includes assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications.
• Resilient, resourceful approach, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.

Pay and Hours

Various shift patterns are available due to company expansion, some roles offering a shift allowance of 12%. Overtime is also available.
