Job summary

Precision People is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a multi-skilled, mechanically biased role in Corby. The position covers maintenance across production machinery, pumps, drives and pneumatic systems, with hands-on fabrication and tooling work.

You will be responsible for fault-finding, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and delivering practical improvements across the factory. Mon-Fri days, early finish Fridays, with a competitive package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/plant/factory engineering experience.
• Fabrication and welding capability.
• Mechanical fault diagnosis essential.
• Electrical fault-finding and basic 3‑phase work welcome.

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding and improving production machinery
• Working on pumps, motors, drives, pneumatics and mechanical systems
• Fabrication, welding and modification work
• Building jigs, frames, supports and practical production tooling
• Working with mould tools and mixing/process systems
• Supporting machinery upgrades and factory improvements
• Diagnosing electrical faults and carrying out practical electrical work where required
• Solving recurring production problems with permanent fixes

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys solving real engineering problems and working across machinery, fabrication, tooling, process equipment and factory improvements.

The role would suit an experienced engineer who is mechanically strong, practically minded, and comfortable turning ideas into working solutions.

Commutable from Northampton, Kettering, Daventry, Peterborough and surrounding areas.
