Job summary

Staffbase Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site near Burton-on-Trent. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on packaging machinery, conveyors and related equipment, applying both mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.

The role offers rotating shifts, a basic salary of £43K-£48K plus overtime, shift allowance, pension and sick pay. NVQ3 in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, with time-served engineers welcome.

Qualifications

• Experienced maintenance engineer with mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with packaging machinery, conveyors or similar.
• NVQ 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred; time-served considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair packaging machinery, conveyors, mixers, silos and related equipment.
• Perform 3-phase electrical fault finding and repair on contactors, sensors, relays, switchgear and motors.
• Handle hydraulics, pneumatics, gearbox bearings and shafts; welding and fabrication as needed.
• Support facilities maintenance and shift-based operations.

Job description

Our client is a very successful manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Maintenance Engineer.

Basic salary £43K - £48K + OT

The Role:

Reporting to the engineering supervisor you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance activities at a busy production facility.

The successful applicant will undertake mechanical and electrical maintenance activities at our client's busy manufacturing plant near Burton-on-Trent.

• Maintenance, service and repair of wrapping, bagging & packaging machinery, mixers, silos, conveyors systems and more
• 3-phase electrical fault find and repair contactors, sensors, relays, switchgear, motors
• Gearboxes, bearings, shafts, etc etc
• Hydraulics, pneumatics,
• Motors, pumps, valves etc etc
• Welding fabrication and toolroom work
• Some facilities maintenance

PPM'sCandidates:

• The successful candidate will be an experienced maintenance engineer with good mechanical and electrical fault find and repair skills.
• Applicants with previous experience in maintenance and repair of packaging machinery, conveyors or similar.
• We are seeking applicants who ideally have NVQ 3 certification in either mechanical or electrical engineering. However time served engineers will be considered.

Hours of work:

• Rotating shifts
• Monday to Friday 6am -2pm
• Monday to Thursday 2pm - Midnight
• Overtime available
