Job summary

Prime-Appointments in Braintree, England, is seeking a maintenance engineer to join a specialist manufacturing environment. You will perform planned maintenance on production machinery, diagnose electrical faults, and support production reliability.

The role requires an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer with knowledge of 3-phase systems and control panels. Shift patterns apply, with Monday–Friday rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills and a recognised electrical qualification.
• Knowledge of 3-phase systems, motors, drives and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Basic mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults across control panels, PLCs, inverter drives, motors and sensors.
• Support mechanical maintenance activities including bearings, belts, gearboxes and pneumatics.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Fault finding on automation systems including Siemens and Fanuc controls.
• Complete maintenance records and support continuous improvement projects.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills looking for your next challenge within a specialist manufacturing environment?

I’m recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering business based in Braintree, Essex. This role will suit an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding, improving equipment reliability and supporting a busy production facility.

The role will involve:

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and site equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across control panels, PLCs, inverter drives, motors and sensors
• Supporting mechanical maintenance activities including bearings, belts, gearboxes and pneumatics
• Responding to breakdowns and minimising production downtime
• Fault finding on automation systems including Siemens and Fanuc controls
• Completing maintenance records and supporting continuous improvement projects

The ideal Maintenance Engineer will have:

• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment

• Hours:
  Monday to Friday rotating shifts:
• Early shift: Monday to Thursday 06:00 - 14:00, Friday 06:00 - 13:00
• Late shift: Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 22:00, Friday 13:00 - 20:00
