Job summary

JCB is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team at the World Headquarters. You will maintain and improve electrical systems and automated machinery to minimise downtime and maximise equipment performance.

You will diagnose faults, work with PLCs and control systems, and support continuous improvement projects while ensuring safety, quality and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Electrician with relevant electrical engineering or maintenance qualifications.
• Experience in manufacturing, production or industrial environments preferred.
• Confident fault-finding on electrical systems and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, motors, inverters and industrial electrical installations.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive maintenance approach.
• Commitment to safety, quality and workmanship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment and plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on manufacturing equipment, automated systems and site infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Work with PLC-controlled equipment, drives, motors, sensors and control systems.
• Support continuous improvement projects to increase reliability and safety.
• Complete maintenance records and update maintenance management systems.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring faults.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment.
