Job summary

Lodestone Recruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established manufacturing site in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, to recruit a Maintenance Electrician.

The role focuses on planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement of electrical systems to maximise equipment availability. Regular days, 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities. A competitive package includes pension, health plan and cycle-to-work scheme.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained to HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations requirement.
• Experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Desirable PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens).

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings.
• Change bearings and gears.
• Maintain and repair plant machinery including cranes and cutting equipment.
• Work independently and see tasks through to completion.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and work instructions.
• Organise and control subcontractors when required.

Job description

Lodestone is working with our client who in Barnsley who require a Maintenance Electrician to carry out plant maintenance.

With manufacturing facilities in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the business has growth plans. They are seeking a Maintenance Electrician for a role on regular days shift, which is rare in Maintenance.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across site.

This role focuses on delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding effectively to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Change bearings and gears
• Maintain and repair anything from overhead cranes and jibs, plasma and gas cutting machinery, sawing and drilling machinery and grinders
• Work independently and use initiative to see tasks through to completion
• Adhere strictly to Health & Safety procedures and work instructions
• Organise and control subcontractors where required

Skills & Experience

• Must be apprentice trained to HNC or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or to similar standard)
• Proven background in electrical engineering within an industrial environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
• Ideally have fault finding PLC experience using experience such as Siemens
