Job summary

AJP Recruitment client, a large fabrication company servicing the Offshore industry from their busy North East facility, is looking for a Maintenance Electrician to work across the site. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, support improvement projects and ensure safety, legal and quality checks are completed, with accurate record-keeping and handover between shifts.

The role requires an apprenticeship or relevant qualification, strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical/mechanical discipline.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Interpersonal and people-management skills.
• Ability to understand engineering procedures.
• Able to certify electrical installations in buildings.
• Able to run cables and test circuits.
• Team-working and collaboration across levels.
• Willingness to work at height.
• Training possible for MEWPs and cherry pickers.
• Forklift training would be an advantage.
• Willingness to alternate between day and late shift.

Job description

Our client is a large fabrication company servicing the Offshore industry from their busy North East facility. Due to recent projects won they now require a Maintenance Electrician to work across their site.

The Role

• Planned maintenance
• Reactive maintenance
• Improvement projects
• Legal compliance checks / activities
• Safety checks / activities
• Problem solving, root cause fix.
• Keeping records of work done and handing over work to other shifts
• Supporting the creation of maintenance plans and activities

The Person

• Apprenticeship or qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. apprenticeship as a mechanical technician or electrician.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Interpersonal and people-management skills
• Ability to understand a variety of engineering procedures and functions
• Able to certify electrical installations in buildings
• Able to run cables and test circuits.
• Team-working skills to liaise and work cooperatively with individuals at all levels
• Negotiation skills and the ability to persuade others
• Working at height is mandatory requirement.
• Training can be provided for MEWPs and cherry pickers if not qualified.
• Willingness to drive a forklift truck would be an advantage. Training can be provided.
• Willingness to alternate between day shift and late shift
