Calibre Search is seeking an experienced maintenance electrician for a mobile role across a Southampton retail portfolio. You will perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs, travel between sites, and work on electrical installations as needed.
The position offers a 1 in 4 call-out rota, a company vehicle with private use, and competitive benefits as part of an established facilities maintenance operation.
Salary: GBP39000 - GBP39000 per annum + Company Van, D2D travel, OT

If you’re an experienced maintenance electrician who prefers being out on the road rather than tied to a single site, this Southampton-based mobile role offers plenty of variety across a busy retail portfolio.
You’ll be responsible for keeping multiple sites running safely and efficiently, handling everything from planned electrical maintenance and fault finding to reactive repairs and general building services. You’ll work independently across your patch while also providing support to the wider engineering team when needed.
Completing planned preventive maintenance across a range of retail sites.
Responding to reactive electrical faults and carrying out effective diagnosis and repair.
Undertaking minor electrical installation and remedial works.
Maintaining electrical plant, equipment and associated building services.
Carrying out general maintenance tasks where required.
Attending emergency call-outs as part of a 1 in 4 rota.
Ensuring PPM and reactive work is completed within required timescales.
Recording completed works and updating job details accurately via the Mercury system.
Travelling between customer sites throughout the Southampton area.
Working alongside clients, site teams and fellow engineers.
Maintaining high standards of health & safety and workmanship at all times.
This position would suit a maintenance electrician who enjoys a hands-on, varied workload, is confident working without constant supervision and has experience within commercial, retail or facilities maintenance.
NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance, or a recognised equivalent apprenticeship.
17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Previous experience in commercial maintenance, facilities management or a similar environment.
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
Full UK driving licence.
