Job summary

Brookside House in Edgware is seeking a General Maintenance Person to perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs. The role is permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) with duties including painting, basic carpentry, lighting, and garden work, plus health-and-safety support within the service.

Salary is £12.75 per hour, and the post offers community-focused care with a supportive team. This role does not qualify for visa sponsorship; DBS checks apply where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, furniture building, lighting and plumbing basics.
• Ability to log, inspect and report maintenance items for specialist teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance/repairs for assigned equipment and facilities.
• Regularly inspect, log and report items for specialist maintenance.
• Carry out minor repairs (painting, furniture, bulbs), unblocking toilets, gardening.
• Support health and safety within the service to mitigate hazards.
