Job summary

The Inn Collection Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses. You will ensure our facilities are safe, comfortable and in excellent condition, performing daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment as part of a proactive maintenance regime.

You will inspect and maintain roofs, gutters, walkways, lighting and outdoor areas, handling routine tasks and unexpected repairs with a can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Background in maintenance or building services is required.
• Experience keeping facilities safe and well-maintained.
• Ability to perform routine inspections and repairs to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs; secure fire doors.
• Inspect roofs, gutters and walkways; maintain outdoor areas and gardening.
• Handle planned maintenance tasks such as painting and grout work; respond to unplanned repairs.
• Ensure compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests and utility readings.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping. You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs.
