The Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses, part of the Inn Collection Group, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our facilities safe, comfortable and welcoming for guests.

You’ll perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety gear, carry out routine repairs, inspect roofs and outdoor areas,handle painting and joinery, and support planned and unplanned maintenance with a practical, can-do attitude.

Formación

• Maintenance experience or interest in safety and facilities management.
• Ability to work across trades (plumbing, electrical, joinery).
• Proactive and reliable with good attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs; secure fire doors; monitor safety systems.
• Inspect roofs, gutters, and walkways; maintain outdoor areas including gardening and external housekeeping.
• Handle planned maintenance tasks (painting, grouting) and unplanned repairs; basic plumbing/electrical/joinery work.
• Comply with safety standards through ladder checks, fire alarm tests and utility readings.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping.

You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can-do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
