Job summary

Inn Collection Group’s Kingslodge Inn in Durham seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep facilities safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained. You’ll run daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment, inspect roofs and walkways, and handle upkeep of outdoor areas.

You’ll carry out planned and unplanned repairs, with basic plumbing, electrical and joinery skills, plus adherence to safety and regulatory checks. A proactive, can‑do attitude will suit this role well.

Qualifications

• Daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Regular inspections of roofs, gutters and walkways.
• Maintenance tasks including painting, grouting, and external housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Handle planned maintenance tasks and unplanned repairs.
• Perform regular inspections to identify hazards and ensure safety compliance.
• Assist in maintaining outdoor areas and overall facility condition.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping.

You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can-do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
