Job summary

The Inn Collection Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for its pub-restaurant in Tynemouth. You will help keep facilities safe, comfortable and well-maintained, with daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, fire safety equipment, and routine upkeep of lighting and doors.

Join a coastal venue with opportunities to work on repairs, painting and gardening, plus a focus on compliance, safety, and guest experience. Training and progression programs are available.

Qualifications

• Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential.
• Experience with boiler and fire safety systems is desirable.
• Ability to perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs; secure fire doors.
• Regularly inspect roofs, gutters and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas.

Sitting in a commanding position overlooking the expansive Longsands Beach, this art deco-style building has been completely renovated. Located in Tynemouth, it offers stunning views of the coastline and easy access to the seafront. The building houses a pub restaurant with 250 internal and 300 external covers, a fish and chip takeaway, and an ice cream and coffee parlour, adding to the vibrant coastal experience.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You’ll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping.

You’ll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can-do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
