Job summary

Inn Collection Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep facilities safe, comfortable and in excellent condition at our coastal pub-restaurant. You’ll perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment, inspect roofs and gutters, and handle both planned and unplanned repairs to ensure a welcoming guest experience.

You'll contribute to outdoor area upkeep and basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks, with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills required.
• Ability to perform safety checks on boilers, fire safety equipment, and electrical systems.
• Willingness to carry out planned maintenance and unplanned repairs.

Responsibilities

• Daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs; secure fire doors.
• Regular roof, gutter and walkway inspections; maintain outdoor areas including gardening and external housekeeping.
• Carry out planned maintenance such as painting and grouting; address unplanned repairs.
• Support compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests and utility readings.

Sitting in a commanding position overlooking the expansive Longsands Beach, this art deco-style building has been completely renovated. Located in Tynemouth, it offers stunning views of the coastline and easy access to the seafront. The building houses a pub restaurant with 250 internal and 300 external covers, a fish and chip takeaway, and an ice cream and coffee parlour, adding to the vibrant coastal experience.

You’ll Fit Right Inn

As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our facilities are safe, comfortable, and in excellent condition. Your responsibilities include daily checks on boilers, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, along with inspecting and replacing light bulbs and securing fire doors. You'll conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and walkways to address hazards and maintain outdoor areas, including gardening and external housekeeping.

You'll handle planned maintenance tasks like painting and grouting, as well as unplanned repairs. Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential, along with a focus on compliance through ladder checks, fire alarm tests, and utility readings. A proactive, can-do attitude will help you confidently tackle varied tasks with care and precision.
