Job summary

The Mitre, Hampton Court is part of The Signet Collection, seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You will support the Maintenance Manager, handle tasks on schedule, and respond to emergencies, while ensuring guest experience remains seamless and private.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or facilities maintenance is beneficial.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and respond to faults.

Responsibilities

• Support the Maintenance Manager to complete tasks on schedule and to high standards.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls involving internal teams and contractors.
• Be guest-focused while respecting guests' time and privacy.
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues across various areas.

You will:

• Support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring all allocated tasks are completed on schedule and to the highest standard.
• Be comfortable working independently, but also within a wider team at any given time.
• Be agile in responding to emergency maintenance calls, this includes internal teams, and external or third party contractors.
• Be guest focused and approachable, whilst ensuring discretion and awareness of our guests' time and privacy during their stay with us.
• Regularly conduct troubleshooting to solve minor technical, internal, or exterior issues (e, guest bedrooms, to the kitchen, to the bar).
• Remain calm under pressure, or when responding to urgent tasks, including power cuts or similar.
• Plan and oversee renovations and construction projects.
• Show initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ensure all Company rules and regulations relating to Hygiene, Health and Safety are being followed.
• Regularly conduct tests on all equipment and machinery ensuring it is safe to use, and does not pose any dangers to individuals.
