Job summary

South Place Hotel is seeking a passionate Maintenance Assistant to support engineering operations across the luxury property and related venues within The Evolv Collection. You will manage heating, ventilation, fire alarm systems, lighting, and routine upkeep, ensuring guest comfort and safety.

On-site role at 3 South Pl, London, with a strong emphasis on proactive maintenance, guest service, and teamwork with hotel restaurants to deliver a seamless experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance and plant room equipment.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Gas Safe Engineer or Electrician qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee seamless operation of engineering aspects across luxury properties and sister venues.
• Perform checks on heating, ventilation, fire alarm and other plant systems.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as re-decoration and bulb replacement.
• Respond to urgent maintenance tasks with minimal guest disruption.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and building regulations.
• Collaborate with hospitality teams to maintain high service standards.

A bit about what you will be doing

We are looking for a passionate Maintenance Assistant who can confidently deliver exceptional, 5 star service. The successful Maintenance Assistant will understand the different needs of different businesses and departments within them, as well as the varied profiles and priorities of hotel and restaurant guests. In addition to the maintenance for South Place Hotel, our maintenance team provides coverage and support to some of our sister businesses within The Evolv Collection, comprising of 2 restaurants, a wine retail and dining space and a very busy, high profile bar.

• Seamless running of all engineering aspects of our luxury properties, ensuring our guests receive the ultimate experience.
• Knowledgeable of all hotel maintenance, plant room equipment, Health and Safety regulations.
• Checks and routine maintenance on heating, ventilation, fire alarm and other plant to ensure their trouble free operations
• Routine maintenance of the building such as re-decoration and replacement of bulbs.
• Reactive maintenance work as a matter of urgency with minimal disruption to guests.
• Qualified Gas Safe Engineer or Electrician would be desirable
• Overall you will have bags of personality, enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
