Job summary

The Royal Horseguards is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to oversee hands‑on maintenance across the hotel, from guest rooms to plant rooms. You will lead and motivate a team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance with precision, ensuring the hotel runs at its best and guest experiences remain seamless.

You will drive a proactive maintenance program, respond quickly to requests, and uphold health, safety and cost‑effective standards, helping to maintain the property’s prestigious status

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure areas meet health, safety and legal standards.
• Assist with cost control and supplier management to maintain a well‑functioning department.

Salary: £16.91 per hour

The Royal Horseguards is a beautiful 5 star hotel overlooking the River Thames, close to The Embankment and Trafalgar Square. The hotel has 282 bedrooms, restaurant, bar and terrace area as well as exceptional banqueting facilities at one of London's most prestigious conference and banqueting venues, One Whitehall Place.

What you’ll be doing

As Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a hands‑on role in maintaining the smooth operation of our beautiful hotel. From the guest rooms to the plant room, and everything in between, you’ll ensure the hotel is always running at its best.

You’ll lead by example, inspiring your team to carry out planned and reactive maintenance with precision and pride. Whether it’s fixing a small issue or supporting larger projects, your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to creating a seamless and extraordinary guest experience.

• Supporting the Maintenance Manager in delivering a proactive maintenance program across the hotel.
• Leading and motivating the maintenance team to ensure work is carried out efficiently and to the highest standard.
