Job summary

Ardencote Manor is seeking a practical Maintenance Assistant to join our hotel team in the United Kingdom. In this full-time, permanent role you will carry out day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep to keep the property safe and guest-ready.

You will work closely with Housekeeping and other teams, support contractors, keep maintenance records, and respond quickly to requests. The package includes a £30,000 salary per year, 40-hour weeks, and a range of staff benefits.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance across the hotel.
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, mechanical and basic building tasks.
• Paint, decorate, tile, re-grout and general upkeep work.
• Check lighting, heating and utilities on routine visits.
• Support planned preventative maintenance.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and urgent issues.
• Carry out fire safety and emergency lighting checks.
• Keep workshops, tools and storage areas clean and organised.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping and other teams on repairs.
• Oversee contractors and suppliers when required.
• Maintain up-to-date maintenance records and digital task lists.

Join our Maintenance team and help keep our hotel looking and working at its best

We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in doing a great job. You’ll help look after our property, carrying out day‑to‑day repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep to ensure everything is safe, well maintained and ready for our guests

What You'll Do

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the hotel
• Helping with plumbing, electrical, mechanical and basic building tasks
• Completing painting, decorating, tiling, re‑grouting and other general upkeep
• Carrying out routine checks on lighting, heating and utilities
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance
• Responding quickly to maintenance requests and unexpected issues
• Completing regular fire safety and emergency lighting checks
• Keeping workshops, tools and storage areas clean, safe and organised
• Working closely with Housekeeping and other hotel teams to prioritise repairs
• Helping oversee contractors and suppliers when required
• Keeping maintenance records and digital task lists up to date

Additional Information

• 40 hours per week - Full-Time permanent position
• Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
• Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)

Hospitality doesn’t stop at 5pm, so some flexibility will be needed. This role may include early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends where maintenance needs to be completed with minimal disruption to our guests
