Job summary

Ardencote Manor is seeking a practical Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Hiddenwell Luxury Wellness Retreat. You will help maintain the hotel, carry out day‑to‑day repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep to keep the property safe and guest-ready.

The role requires hands-on skills, a practical mindset and the ability to work both independently and with colleagues. 40 hours/week, permanent full‑time, with flexibility for shifts including weekends.

• Commitment to safety and quality in a hospitality setting.
• Flexible and reliable, able to work weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the hotel.
• Assisting with plumbing, electrical, mechanical and basic building tasks.
• Carrying out painting, decorating, tiling and other upkeep tasks.
• Performing routine checks on lighting, heating and utilities.
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance and responding to issues promptly.
• Keeping maintenance records and digital task lists up to date.

Join our Maintenance team and help keep our hotel looking and working at its best

We’re looking for a practical, hands‑on Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in doing a great job. You’ll help look after our property, carrying out day‑to‑day repairs, preventative maintenance and general upkeep to ensure everything is safe, well maintained and ready for our guests

What You'll Do

• Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across the hotel
• Helping with plumbing, electrical, mechanical and basic building tasks
• Completing painting, decorating, tiling, re-grouting and other general upkeep
• Carrying out routine checks on lighting, heating and utilities
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance
• Responding quickly to maintenance requests and unexpected issues
• Completing regular fire safety and emergency lighting checks
• Keeping workshops, tools and storage areas clean, safe and organised
• Working closely with Housekeeping and other hotel teams to prioritise repairs
• Helping oversee contractors and suppliers when required
• Keeping maintenance records and digital task lists up to date

• Must be organised and able to manage changing priorities
• Must be friendly and professional around guests and colleagues
• Must take pride in keeping the property to a high standard
• Must be happy working both independently and as part of a team

Additional Information

• 40 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
• Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
• Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)

Hospitality doesn’t stop at 5pm, so some flexibility will be needed. This role may include early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends where maintenance needs to be completed with minimal disruption to our guests
