Job summary

Moat House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Hinckley to keep the home safe, well maintained and comfortable. You will perform a range of tasks across building and grounds, helping to ensure equipment and systems run safely and efficiently.

The role is hands-on and varied, requiring independent workload management and a proactive approach while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds.
• Perform repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently and respond to issues.
• Work independently and with the wider team, following health and safety procedures.
• Help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.

Maintenance Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This is a hands on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.

Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
