Job summary

Antonine House in Bearsden, Glasgow, part of Meallmore Ltd, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our modern 81-bed care home safe, clean and welcoming. Hours are 37.5 per week, with a pay rate of £13.86 per hour plus competitive benefits and overtime rates.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience in basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks, a full UK driving licence, good time management, and excellent communication to work with staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in maintenance, ideally in healthcare or senior living.
• Knows basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
• Strong problem-solver with keen attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and good at managing your own time.
• Excellent communicator and team player.
• Willing to learn whatever you need to do the job right.

Responsibilities

• Swiftly and efficiently handle general maintenance work and record-keeping within the care home.
• Guarantee all Compliance and Mandatory checks are completed and recorded within the designated timeframe.
• Prioritise a safe environment for all residents and colleagues.
• Maintain equipment used by employees and residents to the highest standard, ensuring it's always ready for use.
• Keep garden areas, driveways, and paths tidy and welcoming at all times.
• Follow purchasing routines to ensure smooth and safe operations.

Set in the welcoming community of Bearsden, Glasgow, Antonine House is a modern 81-bed care home providing residential, nursing, elderly dementia, respite and palliative care in a warm and supportive environment. Our experienced team delivers compassionate, person-centred care, helping residents live with dignity, comfort and independence. Hours: 37.5 hours per week

What we're looking for:

We are looking for someone who has experience in maintenance, ideally in healthcare or senior living environments who:
