Job summary

Meallmore is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for our care home in Scotland. The role covers general maintenance, safety, and record-keeping to keep the environment safe and welcoming for residents and staff. You will need a full UK driving licence, basic IT skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Hours: 37.5 per week. Salary: £13.86 per hour with overtime rates and competitive benefits. Training and pathways to develop skills are available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
• Knows basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks.
• Problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
• Self-motivated and good at managing your own time.
• Great communicator and team player.
• Able to keep work areas clean and safe.
• Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Swiftly and efficiently handle general maintenance work and record-keeping within the care home.
• Ensure compliance and mandatory checks are completed and recorded within set timeframes.
• Prioritise a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Maintain all equipment used by employees and residents to the highest standard.
• Keep garden areas, driveways and paths tidy and welcoming.
• Follow purchasing routines to ensure smooth and safe operations.

• Guarantee all Compliance and Mandatory checks are completed and recorded within the designated timeframe.

• Maintain all equipment utilised by employees and residents to the highest standard, ensuring it's always ready for use.

• Keep garden areas, driveways, and paths tidy and welcoming at all times.
