Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd. is recruiting for an Assistant Gas Engineer (Mains & Services) based in Exeter. The role involves assisting the Gas Network/Service Engineer with installation, replacement and maintenance of underground pipework at customer premises and public highways.

Successful candidates will have driving licence, be eligible to work in the UK, show experience in a similar role, and be flexible to travel. Ideal applicants may hold EUSR SHEA Gas safety, NRSWA, and NPORS qualifications.

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Gas Network/Service Engineer with all aspects of the role.
• Domestic & Commercial site work including installations, replacement and maintenance of underground pipe work.
• Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE.
• Travel will be required as part of the role.
• Use of pneumatic tooling in a safe manner.
• Operate mechanical excavators.
• Use of breathing apparatus.

Assistant Gas Engineer (Mains & Services)

Field Based - Exeter

Salary £29,725-£35,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Gas Engineer who will play a vital role in assisting the Gas Network/Service Engineer to install, replace and maintain underground pipework and associated equipment at customer’s premises and public highways.

The Ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and possess strong customer service skills. They will also be able to prioritise well and work to tight schedules.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE
• Assist the Gas Network/Service Engineer with all aspects of the role
• Domestic & Commercial site work including installations, replacement and maintenance of underground pipe work.
• Manual handling
• Operating Pneumatic tooling in a safe manner
• Use mechanical excavators
• Use of breathing apparatus
• Travel will be required as part of the role.
