Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd is seeking a Gas Service Engineer to work field-based, mainly outdoors, across the South East region. You will install and maintain bulk LPG tanks and equipment at customer sites with full training provided. A standby rota will require occasional out-of-hours work and travel across rural areas.

We offer a competitive salary (£30k–£35k), overtime, a company van, pension, and healthcare. Successful candidates will join a supportive team and receive ongoing LPG qualifications training.

Qualifications

• Recently retrained as a gas engineer with a CCN1 qualification.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience with LPG, bulk LPG tanks and cylinders is advantageous.
• Willingness to train and bolt on LPG ACS qualifications.
• Able to work outdoors and travel in a company van.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Calor’s bulk tanks and assets at customer sites (full training provided).
• Travel to customer sites with van and fuel provided to meet service standards.
• Respond to gas emergencies during standby rota and be flexible for hours.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures and site instructions.

Calor are looking for a flexible and motivated Gas Service Engineer to join our field-based Assets team, providing engineering services and emergency response to Calor customers in the area.

Predominately Working Outdoors, Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Installing and maintaining Calor’s bulk tanks and assets (full training given) at customer sites
• Participation in travel (van and fuel provided) in order to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base

This role requires participation in a Standby Rota to respond to gas emergencies out of normal working hours and can involve extensive travel in order to meet customer service standards for our largely rural customer base. Therefore, you will need to have a flexible, positive and adaptable approach.

Please note this vacancy does NOT involve servicing or working on gas appliances.

This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified gas engineer with minimal experience, to join the market leading LPG supplier and continue to develop and be trained as an LPG engineer. Need excellent problem solving and communication skills who is confident working on their own initiative on customer sites and who enjoys working mainly outdoors. A willingness to support other team members and colleagues is expected. You in turn will be supported through an ongoing commitment to develop your own skills, understanding and expertise as an LPG specialist.

We Are Looking For

• Someone who has recently retrained as a gas engineer with a minimum of Core Gas Safety (CCN1)
• We will train and bolt on additional LPG ACS qualifications with a mixture of onsite training paired with an engineer and at our own Training Centre near Leicester (estimate around 6 months)
• Previous 'hands on' gas industry experience is essential and customer care experience.
• Any relevant gas engineering experience would be considered useful and an understanding of LPG and the installation and maintenance of bulk LPG tanks and cylinders would be a distinct advantage
• Whilst previous experience of working with LPG tanks would be ideal, full training and support will be given to the right individual
• A full UK driving license is also essential
• Have an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, including Health and Safety awareness
• Appreciate the importance of and be able to follow procedures and instructions.
