Job summary

NatWest Group is seeking an experienced Mainframe Hardware Infrastructure Engineer to join our Edinburgh team. You’ll engineer infrastructure technology for cloud environments while ensuring security, resilience, sustainability and observability across platforms.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps, support engineered products, and drive infrastructure as code initiatives through modern CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development or automation scripting (Python/Shell) and SDLC.
• Experience using infrastructure as code tools to manage environments.
• Solid understanding of Agile practices and tooling.
• Strong IBM Z hardware infrastructure knowledge: DASD, SAN/FICON.
• Experience with GDPS architectures, DR automation and processor management.
• CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling and observability practices.
• Public cloud knowledge across GCP, AWS and Azure; on‑premise datacentre work.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to inform product roadmaps and lifecycle from new products to end of support.
• Support engineered products and respond to user feedback and production issues.
• Develop skills and design self‑service infrastructure products.
• Deliver infrastructure as code solutions and patterns.
• Work with users to gain feedback and improve solutions.
• Provide operational support for pattern or product related issues.
• Generate innovative ideas and drive delivery through product features.
