Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Maidenhead is seeking a General Assistant for a part-time, permanent role. You will work 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in a fast-paced school catering environment, assisting with service, food prep and cleanliness.

You should have a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, good English skills and a reliable, flexible approach. The role includes occasional evenings/weekends for events and offers internal training and career progression.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 2 food hygiene qualification.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good English (spoken).
• Experience in customer or food preparation environment preferred.
• Strong team orientation and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare service areas for the day’s business relating to that meal service.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away food, beverages or equipment.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service following hygiene standards.
• Restock and replenish stocks and consumables during service to ensure good customer service.
• Dispose of rubbish and recycling in proper places.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
• Ensure food standards and wastage controls are followed.
• Follow food hygiene and health & safety policies and allergen controls.
