Job summary

Thomas Franks in Slough is seeking a General Assistant to join our catering team at a busy independent prep school location. This term-time role covers 34 weeks with Monday–Friday shifts, offering the chance to support serving, stock replenishment, and basic food preparation for daily meals and special events.

You will work with a friendly team, adhere to food safety standards, and may occasionally cover evenings or weekends for school activities. Free parking is available on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment, preferably fast-paced.
• Ability to communicate in English clearly, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and replenish stocks during service.
• Prepare service areas for daily operations.
• Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food, beverages and equipment.
• Ensure hygiene and safety standards are followed.
• Restock consumables and support during events.
• Be prepared to work evenings or weekends for functions.
• Ensure waste is managed and standards are met.
• Follow allergen controls and health and safety policies.
